YOUTH LEADERSHIP

The Nebraska Statewide Independent Living Council (NESILC) decided in the current State Plan on Independent Living (SPIL) to sponsor a youth member of the disability community to attend the Association Programs for Rural Independent Living (APRIL) Youth Leadership Conference.  This conference is held the same time as the annual APRIL conference, which is the 3rd week of October.   NESILC determined that youth with disabilities between the ages of 18-26 can apply.  The conference will be held in Orlando, Florida, all allowable expenses will be paid by NESILC.

 

Because of COVID-19 travel may not be an option.  In that case the APRIL Conference will be held virtually and may not have a virtual  youth component.  We will cover the cost to attend the virtual event.  We will know by the end of May if they will be holding this conference virtually or in person, and NESILC will post it on our website.
